Holding You Through Every Transition

Full Spectrum Doula and Lactation Support in White Rock, Surrey, Vancouver & Surrounding Areas

Hi, I’m Emily

I'm a certified full spectrum doula, lactation specialist, and perinatal educator. Through experiences of loss and navigating bias within the medical system, my doula work and education began as acts of resistance and self-advocacy, evolving into a passion for supporting autonomy and community-centred care. My approach is rooted in empowerment, empathy, inclusivity, and the understanding that support looks different for every individual. I trust you as the expert of your own path and preferences.

I provide full-spectrum pregnancy, birth, postpartum, lactation and bereavement support and education while living and working as an uninvited settler on the traditional and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), qiqéyt (QayQayt), qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen), q̓íc̓əy̓ (Katzie), səmyámə (Semiahmoo), scəw̓aθən (Tsawwassen), S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), and kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem). Since time immemorial, the original peoples of these lands have cared for their families and communities. I am committed to honouring their teachings, legacy and sovereignty. I recognize that there is systemic racism within and throughout our institutions, and that I have the responsibility and power to promote cultural humility and advocate for safe environments of care.

Much of what is now considered standard practice of modern obstetric and midwifery care was built through exploitation and non-consensual experimentation of Black, Indigenous, and other racialized bodies without consent or dignity. BIPOC communities/People of the Global Majority carry generations of knowledge, skill, and community-rooted practices that have long sustained birthing families. This legacy has endured despite colonization, slavery, and the medicalization of birth, which systemically displaced and marginalized traditional midwives and birth workers. This history is ongoing in its impact and is reflected in the inequities present in perinatal healthcare today. I carry this awareness into my work and commit to providing care that centres justice and the wisdom of BIPOC communities, while actively challenging the systems that continue to harm them.

Postpartum Care

Hands-on, in-home support to help you recover, rest, and adjust to life with your new baby. I provide newborn care guidance, evidence-based infant feeding support, and practical help with household tasks, and daily routines. Along with emotional check-ins, I offer a calm, supportive presence and connect you with trusted community resources.

Lactation Support

Personalized, evidence-based support to help you feel confident feeding your baby. I provide guidance with nursing, pumping, bottle feeding, latch and positioning, milk supply, and feeding rhythms, while assessing your baby’s oral function during feeds. You’ll receive practical strategies, hands-on support, and referrals to trusted specialists if additional care is needed.

“I am so grateful to have had Emily by my side during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She was always so reliable and there for me whenever I needed reassurance or support. This was my first pregnancy and I didn't really know what to expect from a doula, but she went above and beyond what I had hoped for in guiding me through such an overwhelming and difficult time in my life. Her being there made me feel safe and like I could just relax and focus on my baby instead of everything else going on at the time… I don’t think I could have done it without her. After I had my baby, she even stayed with me to help me learn to nurse because I was having so much trouble emotionally and physically. She encouraged me to keep going through it all and reminded me that I'm a good mom. I felt so much less alone with her by my side.”
